What are you going to study at uni?
I would recommend Brighton Uni, it's the best city in the country in my opinion, really chilled out and loads of different types of people.
Oh gawd, it snowed here too!... so I feel you. Right now we've got about 10cm of fluffy cold snow

You probably won't read this since it's an older post but I'd recommend Edinburgh. The city is very pretty indeed and the University is one of the most prestigious. There seems to be a lot of Scandinavian students with a Scandinavian society and a great Swedish coffee/sandwich place nearby. There are so many societies to choose from socializing is made very easy. The Uni gym is also great. I mean if you ask stunning you'll get it. PLus it's located in the city centre so everything or almost is within easy reach.
